About Us

Counties across the United States have been adopting the Project Homeless Connect model and integrating it into their communities for years. With this model, the nation is helping more and more individuals and families get critical care, services and information.

In 2006, an individual within Washington County decided it was time we adopt the program as well. With much dedication, work and passion, Kim Marshall made it happen. And with support and backing from Good Neighbor Center and Vision Action Network, Kim was able to begin planning Washington County’s 1st Project Homeless Connect.

In the past 12 years, collaboration is what has made the event grow. Washington County Project Homeless Connect was able to partner with Vision Action Network, United Way of the Columbia-Willamette, Pacific University, Washington County and Providence Health & Services. Working together, various volunteers and community sponsors now successfully bring the following services to the Homeless community of Washington County, each year.

It is because of non-profit agencies, the public, faith and business partners that this event is truly a success.

  • 25 Intakes Completed within First Hour

  • 200 Meals Served

  • 18 Showers Taken

  • 250 Sack Lunches Given Out

  • 24 Section 8 Applications Completed

  • 25 People Provided with Food Stamps by DHS

  • 27 Kids in the Children’s Area

  • 36 Full Eye Exams

  • 8 Certificates for Exams at Pacific University

  • 40 Pairs Glasses Given Out

  • 13 HIV Tests Done

  • 40 Haircuts Given
